Biograghy:

Ann Corder and I married in 1960, split seventeen years later after producing
two sons, Briton Lucius and Erik Kever. Brit now writes financial analysis in
Baltimore and has provided two grandchildren, Georgia (2) and Henry (6 mo.),
along with a step-grandchild, Hannah (10). Erik is an actor in New York City,
currently rehearsing a new play that is due to open in about a month. Since
1981, Brit and Erik have had a WOSM (Wicked Old Step Mother), Martha
Glenn-Ryle of Richmond.

After 36 years of professing Soviet and other history at the University of
Richmond, I accepted emeritus status two years ago. Retirement is being very,
very good to me. I play trombone in a swing band and in a trad jazz or
dixieland band called the Doctors of Jazz. In the summer of 01 we played in
the Vienna Jazz Fest and in Berlin--great fun. Next summer we are trying for
the North Sea Jazz Fest in Den Haag and the Copenhagen Jazz Fest. I also play
a good bit of golf, volunteer for worthy causes, give an occasional lecture,
read, write and cook.
